Paxilloboletus gen. nov., a new lamellate bolete genus from tropical Africa

Abstract This study presents Paxilloboletus gen. nov., a new lamellate bolete genus represented by two tropical African species, africanus sp. nov. and latisporus Although the taxa strongly resemble Paxillus (Paxillaceae), they lack clamp connections form separate generic clade within Boletaceae phylogeny. The species are lookalikes, morphologically only separable their spore morphology. Descriptions illustrations of given, as well comments on ecology, distribution, morphological differences with other gilled Boletaceae.
